Field Engineer
Full-Time · San Francisco
You will sell Conway to the world's largest financial institutions, then put it into production yourself. Field engineers own the account end to end: finding the deal, running the technical evaluation, closing the contract, and delivering the deployment that makes the renewal inevitable. There is no handoff between the person who promises and the person who delivers, because they are you.
Sample projects include:
- • Run a proof of value from first meeting to signed contract — scope the evaluation, deploy the model, and beat the customer's incumbent system on their own data
- • Walk a C-suite through why one foundation model replaces their portfolio of point solutions, then walk their engineers through the deployment plan in the same afternoon
- • Turn a skeptical analyst team into the reference customer that closes the next three deals
Requirements:
- • Strong technical foundation — you can read data, write code, and debug across an unfamiliar stack without a manual
- • You are equally comfortable in a terminal and in a boardroom, and you can move a deal forward from either
- • Commercial instinct. You find the person with the budget, understand what they're actually buying, and know the difference between a champion and a fan
- • High agency. You have shipped or sold something real under a deadline that mattered, with no one checking your work
- • Willingness to travel to customer sites
Nice to haves:
- • Forward deployed, solutions, or field engineering experience — especially where you carried a number or owned a book of accounts
- • You've closed enterprise deals, or been the technical reason one closed
- • Experience in at least one fast moving startup
